Last Moments

When years come to minutes
What can the heart convey?
With thanks for all you’ve done
What few words can I say?

You are my foundation
Always there for me
Champion of faith
Hope there’d always be

Any good, one may see
Word or act I do
Know that it was born
From the love of you

In lifetime of your giving
Self-sacrifice was shared
Not matter what life sent
I know you always cared

We gaze eye to eye
And hope the heart shines through
I need a word beyond
Past a simple thank you

When the words start flowing
Through tears it’s just too tough
I love you’s all we say
And know that that’s enough

  1. Beautifully expressed. Thank you for sharing.
A good cry with sincerity of heart brings out all our emotions to the surface making us face the realities of them. The belief in Christ turns those spent tears into the healing of our souls.
Giving us clarity to face each new day, strength to persevere and hope that our reality that brought us to tears to begin with, shall pass. For 1 John 4:4 says it best: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
Thank you again for the inspiration. God bless.
