Thank you for having a look….
Some people have asked about the inspirations behind these poems.
The best that I can offer is to sit and “be” with God. Find a place where it’s easy to be with God. In a sunrise, in the gentle rain, on a Church bench whenever you feel His Presence (and of course that can be anywhere). Quiet your soul. Know that He is here, know that you are loved and let go and be attentive. Don’t “force” it. See what you see, hear what you hear. Catch a phrase and go with it. It doesn’t have to be perfect just real to you. Open yourself to podcasts, reading/scanning other blogs, listen to your favorite Spiritual author. What “sticks” with you and dwell with that thought, that is inspirational. The purpose is not to write but to hear/feel/sense the perfect love that surrounds and dwells within the depths of your soul.
Thank you so much for all your beautiful encouraging poetry. May God richly bless you for ministering to my heart today. I look forward to reading more. ❤️

I find your poems lovely. You reach a beautiful place in prayer. I am rarely so contemplative. I usually wrestle w/ God. Thankfully, He wins.

Still, you are one of my favorite blogs so I nominated you for a Liebster https://wordpress.com/post/letthelightinreflections.wordpress.com/8902 I don’t expect you to participate. The intention is to share blogs we enjoy.

I thought of you when asked to nominate for Liebster award. It’s supposed to be for fairly young sites. I’m not sure how long you’ve been around, but I hope you enjoy the award. Details about the award at my site if you’re interested.

Daryl: Thanks for your interest in my blog, An Owl Among Ruins. I’m no poet myself, but I’ve written a nonfiction book, Man’s Religion, God’s Faith, which I hope some publisher will grab. One way or another, in the words of the BCP, we writers ” join our voices with angels and archangels, and all the company of heaven.” May they remember to bless you. TD

I agree: the purpose is not to write. The purpose is to be present with the Divine. But then the writing comes, and must be respected and appreciated as the blessing it is.

This post, and your bench remind of the movie War Room. The single greatest take away from that moving for me, was the need for all of us to find that where we feel comfortable and are alone with ourselves so that we can be more receptive to Gods presence with us. I’m retired so my family are out of the house during the day, leaving me alone study, pray and be with God from the breakfast room table. If you don’t have such a place, seek one out. God will lead you to it, if you let Him.

I like your open-minded attitude towards receiving guidance and inspiration. Too many people limit themselves with very dogmatic, restricted perspectives on what is possible. Your poetry is wonderful. God bless you and your work!
