Sacred Place

Quiet now my being
In stillness to begin
From the mind to soul
A movement deep within

Drifting to the center
To the whisper of grace
Dwell in Me beloved
In our sacred place

Distractions are calling
Come here, they say
Acknowledge them now
And let them drift away

To focus of being
To the soul in love
The drawing of Spirit
Descending above

Help me to remain
In this indwelling prayer
To be with You Lord
In living from here

Here is Spring

Here in this morning
With warm light adorning
Come draw the first breath of spring

Here in the air
To hear it sung clear
The song returning birds sing

Here in the ground
Such beauty abounds
In the colors that new flowers bring

Here is the prayer
For all souls to share
In the new life of Christs offering

Touching Of Heart

Those who have been chosen
Each play a part of
Through their lens unique
In sharing of His love

Attune to the Spirit
And stirrings within
With movement to respond
Their mission to begin

Birthed in humility
A message to impart
To flow with Spirits tongue
Words that touch the heart

Blessed the receiver
This treasure they embrace
That gifts the flame of love
One of heavens’ grace

Blessed be the giver
Their calling we applaud
For they’ve a special place
In the heart of God

A Scene Unknown

Mornings of awakenings
Many sunrises, show
The gift of this dawning
Is a scene unknown

Of the mist descending
Indwelling of this day
Through filtering light
Of the spirits way

A sacred invitation
Of vision here to see
Practicing of faith
To come and trust in Me

Breath of holy droplets
Arising in the air
Come to draw within
Our being of a prayer

Luke 24:31

Luke 24:31
A question posed here
In the breaking of bread
Why Jesus disappeared?

Jesus came to earth
Through Father and Mother
As both God and man
Still He was an “other”

He said, He had to go
But know on that day
I’ll live in Father
And in you the same way

With His last supper
He gave us the clue
My body and blood
Given up for you

Receiving communion
Of such intimacy
No longer as “other”
But one incarnate in me

(based upon words by Henri Nouwen)

Philippians 4-6

Rejoice in the Lord
I say it again
Rejoice in the Lord
My Savior, Gods Son

And of your kindness
To all should be known
For the Lord is near
In you His love grown

About nothing be anxious
About everything pray
Beyond understanding
Gods with us today

About these things, think
Whatever is true
Pure, lovely, gracious
Let pure thoughts flow from you

Open the Doors

Come open the doors
To welcome within
Come let the morning
Come pouring in

Sweet the fresh air
Sweet morning sounds
Filling our senses
Sweet peace surrounds

A deeper movement
As a sacrament
One of the Spirit
That it represents

One house of dwelling
In this soul of mine
One breath of being
Of Presence divine
