Things My Mother Left Behind

Can I share you some thoughts?
That often come to mind
Here are some things that
My Mother left behind

In your life’s journey
With all souls you find
Remember to be
Humble and kind

For a lost cat
Or a thin dog you see
Each day for the birds
Leave out food plenty

A love for flowers
Decorations so great
Life’s simple joys
To celebrate

Store in your soul
The joy life can bring
When dark clouds are looming
Think of happy things

With self-sacrifice
For family to care
Always take time
To lift up a prayer

Though she’s moved on
To our God above
The greatest remains
Is the gift of her love

Do things while you can
With this thought in mind
What are the things
That you’ll leave behind

In My Mothers Hands

Fingers, old and wrinkled
In my view, great beauty
For in my Mothers hands
A flow of memories

The first hands to hold me
One of love to show
Hands of soft caressing
Comfort that I know

Two hands of protection
As we crossed the street
Hands of the embracing
Of friend that we did meet

Hands of food preparing
Nourishment entice
Hands of planting, cleaning
One of sacrifice

Hands of wisdom finding
In time of letting go
Hands of embrace returning
True love to bestow

Reflection of the heart
As instruments of love
I still rely upon them
Of praying from above

Mother Mary’s Way

Oh, Mother Mary come to me
In share of our desire
Loving of the son of God
A calling of the higher

Oh Mother Mary pray with me
Of way to contemplate
The wonders of the mysteries
Of our God so great

Oh Mother May bless to me
A gift of grace to share
The spreading of the love of God
In finding your son here

Oh Mother Mary still my soul
Of wisdom share with me
The letting of the way of God
To say, just let it be
