Hebrews 12:2

Our daily life
Is so often the same
With challenges we face
Of burdens and shame

And through the cross
Our Jesus came
To show us the way
Through burdens and shame

When old voices rise
With fear to proclaim
That we can’t carry
Our burdens and shame

It’s a life of sorrow
To bear burdens through shame
Come turn to bear them
Through the love of His name

Come rid ourselves
With our faith to claim
Our joy to be free of
Our burdens and shame

Through our suffering
On our Lord all depends
For we know through His love
How our story ends

I Love

I love the light of the morning
A beautiful way to begin
In warmth of soaking and basking
A way of connection within

I love the breath of the morning
A beautiful presence inhale
One of an easy surrender
As a gift to let peace prevail

I love the stillness of morning
In silence, a beautiful song
Bound within all of creation
One in which we all belong

I love the prayer of the morning
A beautiful, here and above
Blessed this day of receiving
That everything from God is love

Reflection

Everything we see
Within our sight
Is a reflection
That comes from the light

Everything we hear
In waves that abound
Is a reflection
Of another’s’ sound

Everything we taste
Smell and we feel
Is a reflection
Creation reveals

Everything we do
That’s in our control
Is a reflection
Of the state of our soul

Everything that’s good
Let us be part of
For it’s a reflection
Of our God’s love

Dimensions

We see everything
In two dimensions
Our mind perceives
A third extension

And from our mind
Of the physical
To see with our soul
Of the spiritual

In ways of beyond
Let the Spirit flow through
With faith and trust
Of a greater view

Here in the light
Of dwelling above
Blessed to see
His vision of love

Our purpose to share in
His will to be done
The dimensions within
The infinite One

Aware

Come slow it all down
Becoming aware
To experience life
Through our senses here

For all is a gift
Through grace, let it flow
That leads to one Word
For us to know

Each drawing serves as
A facilitator
Into the presence
Of our Creator

Here is our belonging
In one body of
Our being is known
In our God of love

The Shepherds Dance

If only we were there
And we could get a glance
The day that Christ was born
To see the shepherd’s dance

As Angels from heaven
To them did appear
Announcing the good news
That Christ is born, here

They were so amazed
They dropped everything
They went a running
To see the newborn King

They shouted loudly
With everyone to hear
Jesus is born
Our Savior is here

The light shining bright
Upon here God’s Son
The Word is spoken
We’re His beloved One

The Angels from heaven
All sing in glory
They can’t contain their joy
And neither can we

We gaze upon him
Grace and mercy we see
With one look in our eyes
His love transforms me

Joy overflows
We all want to share it
All one in Christ
Through the Holy Spirit

Let’s dance like the shepherds
To praise and to pray
For we celebrate
Him this Christmas day

For we too are shepherds
With I’ll calling to know
That Christ is our shepherd
That we will follow

Come raise your hands
Twirl and spin around
Shaking your head
And jump up and down

Longing

There were a people long ago
Prayed to their God, they longed to know

Because their God, loved them so
A precious gift to them bestow

His only Son sent from above
In human form of divine love

In innocence, as a baby
The humble way for them to see

Their Savior blessed, he grew to be
The Word of God, a true story

In every heart, to each astound
He turned this world, upside down

With His grace, he blessed for free
The treasures of divinity

Love, peace and joy to soak within
With mercy great, forgives all sin

He lived the Way, our sacrifice
And rose from death, the one true Christ

And every soul on earth this day
Longs to be filled in the same way

And here we are on Christmas Day
To celebrate, here let us pray

Our gift from God, let us receive
With grateful praise, yes I believe!!!

Angels and Shepherds

Angels dwell with God
In heaven above
Their joy overflows
In His precious love

To serve God with praise
His message, provides
Intercessors for us
As protectors and guides

They get so excited
When God’s voice they hear
With a special purpose
Of Him sending them here

From the beginning
They waited patiently
For Christ to be born
Into humanity

Can you imagine
The praise that occurred
When God said it’s time
And He spoke the Word

Gabriel sent to Mary
The Message conveyed
With the dream to Joseph
All of heaven prayed

Heaven exploded
With joy of delight
So much that it shown
To Earth in a great light

And the world was sleeping
For our Savior’s birth
They said, God can we please
Go tell someone on earth

And God with a smile
Said let it be done
And you my beloved
Can choose the right one

It’d have to be someone
Awake in the night
Someone in tune with
The stars shining bright

Someone who’s humble
Lonely and meek
To find a good Shepherd
They went off to seek

In the glory of God
The angel did appear
Do not be afraid
I have good news to share

A multitude of angels
All burst out in song
Glory to God in the highest
And sent them along

And so they hurried off
Upon our Lord they gazed
And they spread the word
And all were amazed

Still here the Word flows
Let us prepare
With a humble heart
Of His light, aware

With faith of believing
That God sends today
His angels to us
On this Christmas Day

What I Want For Christmas

With my Christmas list
I don’t need more stuff
With things of this world
I’ve more than enough

I’d like a season
For all to celebrate
Of a God miracle
To pray and contemplate

I want a new birth
Just like a baby
Of innocence and trust
In humility

I would like your Presence
In just a simple space
Within your light shining
Blessed with Your grace

To live as one body
In peace and unity
Surrounded in love
With friends and family

I’d like a God
On whom to depend
One who can relate
To me as a friend

I want a Savior
To bless me for free
A gift I can’t buy
Of eternity

I know what I want
Is something divine
I also know that You
Love this soul of mine

Just now to believe
That all this can be
What I want for Christmas
Lord, you are to me

Christmas is About

I wonder who decided
It was not enough
To celebrate Christ’s birth
We needed other stuff

Fabricate a story
Placed in our child’s head
The Christmas is about
Santa Claus instead

They say don’t take away
This season to enjoy
The magic of Christmas
And all our children’s joy

Do we foster magic
Or love that Jesus brings?
Do we teach our joy
It’s tied to getting things?

Do each of us remember?
The day we lost our trust
When we knew the truth
Our parents lied to us

But we can decide
And take control
To feed worldly pleasures
Or nourish our soul

So let’s reclaim Christmas
Santa can have His place
A simple made up story
But Jesus we’ll embrace

To not focus on presents
Or things commercially
But His joy of Presence
That gives eternally
